This is a needlepoint narrative of the Outlander story - the book written by Diana Gabaldon and loved by millions. It is the story of a woman who goes back through the stones to Scotland in the late 1700s, and describes the journey and the people she encounters there. It is much more than that of course, as anyone who has read the book knows. Since this story has been covered so well already in television series, graphic novel, and through countless other media and products, the only thing left for me to do, the author and illustrator of this particular book, was to create a tapestry of it. It is not a real tapestry - YET! But I feel confident, given time and the right material, it will become a tapestry if enough keen embroiderers pick up needle and thread and reproduce it.This is the Outlander story in brief, depicted in a series of simplistic pictures (like the famous Bayeux Tapestry) that can only hope to capture brief moments of this rich saga. If this is your first glimpse of the magnificent story, don't let it put you off picking up the book and reading it yourself. If you are already a fan - forgive me!
